In March we packed up our things and made the drive through rain, sun, snow, and ghosts to Austin, Texas, for our first SXSW festival. Austin was warm, welcoming, and wild; hordes of people and musicians swarming around the slopes of downtown through the shrieking grackles. We wound up finding 10 gigs in 4 days and missing only one, which was a huge feat, considering how hard it was to get anywhere! The Red-Eyed Fly closing gig was our favorite, with people running in to dance and our awesome sound engineer pouring our well-mixed songs across the tree-lined stream and sidewalks just outside.
